Roof Washing

Black streaks, moss, and lichen removed from the air. No one on your roof, no pressure on your shingles.

Finish One soft-wash drone staged on site before a roof wash

How it works

The black streaks on a shingle roof are a bacteria called gloeocapsa magma. It feeds on the limestone in the shingles and spreads downhill from the ridge. Pressure washing knocks the top layer off and strips the protective granules, so the streaks return in a season and the roof ages years in an afternoon.

Our drone applies a low-pressure soft-wash solution that kills the growth at the root. A fresh-water rinse clears it. The roof stays clean for years, and nobody has to climb a ladder or walk on your shingles. Most shingle manufacturers void the warranty for both.

Roof Washing questions

Will soft washing damage my shingles?

No. Soft washing uses roughly garden-hose pressure. The cleaning solution does the work, not force. This is the method shingle manufacturers recommend.

How long does a roof wash take?

Most single-family homes take two to four hours including setup, treatment, and rinse.

How long will the roof stay clean?

Three to five years is typical in eastern North Carolina, depending on tree cover and shade.
